Q: Why do I hear noises and clicks when I playback movies I took on my Optio camera? A: Noises during movies in Optio cameras are normal if either “Auto Focus w/recording,” “Optical Zoom,” or both have been selected (in the record mode menu “MOVIE”). Optio microphones are sensitive to the sounds of the camera’s internal mechanical workings. The rapid clicking sound is actually the autofocus functioning normally. Additionally, the zoom has a motor (drive) noise associated with its function. We suggest zooming manually before recording movies, and using the camera’s set focus. To avoid the autofocus noise when recording a movie; If you do not want to switch back and forth, Pan Focus does a good job for just almost anything. Tags:
