K-7 Startup Sounds Last Updated: Mon Jul 20 16:11:58 -0400 2009
Q: What are the two different sounds I hear when I turn on my K-7?A: The sensor in the K-7 is able to change its position as part of the active Shake Reduction built into the camera. The first sound heard when the K-7 is turned on is a a very soft "thump". This is the sound of the sensor moving from a resting into an active position when the camera is powered up. The second sound is a short, high-pitched barely audible "buzz" made when the low-pass filter is vibrated rapidly to dislodge any dust particles. These sounds are normal and part of camera start-up.
Note: The sound of the low-pass filter being vibrated is heard on camera start-up if Dust Removal > Start-up Action is selected on pg. 4 in the Set-up Menu and also if Dust Removal is activated manually. Tags:
