Why the Name K-7?
Q: Why was this camera named the K-7?
A: We decided the name should include a low digit to indicate the high quality of the camera in keeping with our other models such as the K10D. Then, as development progressed, the character "7" naturally emerged as a keyword (i.e. the 77-segment multi-pattern metering and the camera's 77 seals). Additionally, "7" is a well-received digit worldwide.
