Optio W80 - "Card not formatted" Message

Q: The "Card not formatted" message is displayed on the LCD panel.

A: The SD (SDHC) Memory Card you have inserted is unformatted or has been formatted on a computer or other device. Format the SD (SDHC) Memory Card in the camera before using it. To format the memory card:

1. Press the power switch. (Capture mode)

2. Press the MENU button.

3. Press the four-way controller (right) once to display the [Setting] menu.

4. Press the four-way controller (up) once to select [Format].

5. Press the four-way controller (right) once to display the [Format] screen.

6. Press the four-way controller (up) once to select [Cancel] -> [Format].

7. Press the OK button to format the card.

8. When formatting ends, the camera returns to Capture mode. Note: formatting a card erases all the data on the card, including protected images and sound files.
